The club was founded by journalists on the London Evening News in 1976 and now visits some of the most pleasant club and village grounds in the Home Counties. There are tours every year - to the Cotswolds in June, rural Derbyshire in early September, the delights of south-west France at the beginning of October, and other occasional destinations. 2026 subscriptions

The rates for Playing Members are £40 per season or a cut-price £130 for four seasons. Members – those in full-time education or those who play a maximum of two games in a season or  those who have no desire to play but who wish to support the club and/or take a full part in the social activities of the club – pay £5 or a cut-price £15 for four seasons.

It is hoped that  retired players and ladies will take the opportunity to become official Members. So please mention this to anyone you think comes into that category.
