The club was founded by journalists on the London Evening News in 1976 and now visits some of the most pleasant club and village grounds in the Home Counties. There are tours every year - to the Cotswolds in June, rural Derbyshire in early September, the delights of south-west France at the beginning of October, and other occasional destinations. All cricketers are welcome - you don’t have to be a journalist to join. Come and take a look inside...

Peppard

Sunday July 5, 1pm start

Take the M4 out of London. Come off at junction 8/9, the Maidenhead turn-off.

Take the A404(M) towards Maidenhead. At a big junction take the A4130 towards Henley. Go over the bridge and into Henley high street.

Straight through Henley. At the top of the high street the main road swings right, but you go straight on, following the signs for Peppard. Set off into the country towards Greys.

Past the Badgmoore Golf Club on your right. Through the village of Greys. After Greys you come to a T-junction. Turn left towards Reading.

After about three-quarters of a mile you come to a hill. Go steeply down and halfway up the other side take a fork off to the right. This is signed (with a dirty difficult-to-read sign) to Gallowstree Common, Kidmore End and Cane End. Peppard is not mentioned on the sign.

Turn right at the next crossroads and the ground is 400 yards along on the right. Should you need it, the Unicorn pub is past the ground on the right.
